Project #173 - Earl Grey Rum
Project #173 - Rum - Earl Grey - 42%abv - 50cl
Fancy a cuppa?
It turns out the aromatic flavours of a good brew pair magnificently with the richness and complexity of quality rum, as you'll discover in this offering from Project #173! The idea came when the #173 gang challenged its customers to come up with a new flavour.
The winning idea was submitted by Alexandru Marius Sandu, a rum aficionado from none other than London's legendary Trailer Happiness bar. Combining a core of top-notch rum with generous helpings of the finest Earl Grey tea, the result is a richly aromatic sipper, brimming with citrus and bergamot alongside dark stewed fruits and spices.
According to Sandu this is Perfect served in a Punch mixed with lime, sugar, and bitters.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Very fragrant with those Earl Grey tea notes, with black tea leaves and oily citrus. It's also rich with stewed dark fruits, chocolate-coated raspberries, and clove.
Palate: Blackcurrant & Liquorice old-fashioned boiled sweets, orange peel, red cola cubes, ginger, and black tea.
Finish: More aromatic spice and bergamot notes.
Overall: Like dunking a tea bag in your rum. But in a good way
